Drawing from Nature

Service Description

The world around us serves as inspiration to our creative senses. This five-week drawing class will focus on natural subjects drawn in a variety of creative ways. Objects will be provided, drawing techniques will be demonstrated, and you are encouraged to record your impressions through drawing. Close focus of the structure of the object and surface qualities will be studied. A variety of media will invite experimentation. This class will allow you to observe and have a freedom with your expression. The artwork will then be shared and constructively critiqued. The elements and principles of art will be presented and serve as vocabulary for a class dialogue. Basic drawing materials are included but students are asked to bring a drawing sketchbook 9"x12" or larger.
