About the event
Join Stacy Myers, our Museum Educator, for a chance to step inside this 200-year-old mill and learn about its history. Originally built in Sag Harbor for Lester Beebe in 1820, this windmill has been moved a total of five times and is linked to many notable East End families including Rose, Ludlow, Topping, Sandford and Sayre. Beebe is one of the first Long Island windmills to have a fly, regulators and cast iron gears and still retains many of its original parts showing an interesting part of American engineering history.
