About the event
Join us for another summer of plein air painting classes with the Bridgehampton Museum! This year our workshops will be hosted by three different artists throughout the summer, giving all of our students more opportunities to learn. These classes are for artists of all abilities from beginners to professionals and will take place at a series of beautiful locations within the Bridgehampton area. Join us to get hands on with some history!
The Bridge holds a special place in the history of the East End. Not only does it have some of the most beautiful views of anywhere on Long Island, but it was also where, in 1953, the Bridgehampton Road Races Corporation began work to construct one of the first purpose-built race circuits in the country. Famous drivers from all over the world came to Bridgehampton to take a few laps. While the track is now a thing of the past and a golf course takes its place today, the club pays homage to its racing history to this day.
At the culmination of this program, The Bridgehampton Museum will be hosting an exhibition of works done by students in this class. Each student will be able to submit one piece they worked on during one of the classes to be part of the exhibition which will be on view in the museum this fall.
