About the event

Program Details

Artist and teacher Howard Rose will be leading a series of Plein Air Painting Classes for this summer with the Bridgehampton Museum. Plein Air painting has a lengthy history on the East End of Long Island with artist like William Merritt Chase. These classes are for artists of all abilities from beginners to professionals and will take place at a series of beautiful locations within the Bridgehampton area. Join us to get hands on with some history!

Our first session will be at the always lovely Madoo Conservancy located at 618 Sagg Main St, Sagaponack, NY 11962. Guests may arrive starting at 10am and are asked to finish their projects and leave when the class ends at 1pm. Guests are asked to park along the south side of Sagg Lake Lane.

Lastly this fall our aim is to curate a small show of the works you and your fellow classmates worked on this summer! The works will be displayed in the historic Nathaniel Rogers House for a limited time this fall.

Bad Weather Alerts

Since this is an outdoor program in the summer in the Hamptons with a lot of moving parts - rain dates are not possible unfortunately. In the event of weather not letting the class happen as normal, students are to come to the Nathaniel Rogers House located at 2539 Montauk Highway, Bridgehampton, NY 11932 for an indoor painting class with Howard. All participants will be sent an email alerting them of any changes to the scheduled events and if you are not able or willing to participate in the indoor class we can move your ticket to another day. If neither accommodations work for you, as long as you let us know within a week of the scheduled class we can process a full refund for you.
