We are thrilled to welcome Stacy Myers to lead our new summer program! Stacy is a highly respected local educator, naturalist curator, and marine advocate known for creating dynamic learning experiences that bridge the gap between scientific theory and creative expression. Notably, she directs the innovative StationKeeper program on Long Island—a critical conservation initiative that partners with NOAA and IFAW to track coastal vessel movements and protect endangered North Atlantic Right Whales. Our summer program is coming to Southampton this July, offering local youth a unique opportunity to experience science and art in a highly personalized setting on a stunning historic property. The Children’s Natural History & Art Program will run from July 20–24, 2026, operating daily morning sessions from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Designed specifically for children ages 9 to 12, this playful innovative program bridges the gap between environmental science and creative expression. Participants will serve as both field scientists and studio artists, using the unique natural history of Mecox Bay as their core inspiration. Throughout the week-long program, students will engage in hands-on ecological exploration, including testing local water quality and studying native aquatic insects. After examining real insect anatomy and inventing their own imaginary wetland creatures, students will transition into their art and studio session. Deeply passionate about hands-on youth education, Stacy writes advanced science and cultural history curriculum for local public and private schools. She is also an experienced curator who specializes in showcasing young talent and designing cumulative, curriculum-focused student shows. Stacy has designed and curated captivating student art exhibitions in unique historic venues—including a classic one-room schoolhouse as well as other local galleries. She cannot wait to channel that same passion for active stewardship and creative education at the Water Mill Museum this July, inspiring your child to think like a field scientist and create like a studio artist!
